App Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you use the Kidlio app.
Last updated: 20 October 2026
These terms govern the use of the Kidlio mobile app. The app is not yet available on the App Store or Google Play; the terms apply from the day the app is released. Use of the kidlio.net site is governed by separate terms: Terms of Use. This English text is a translation; if it conflicts with the Turkish text, the Turkish text prevails.
1. Parties and the Service
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you, as a user of the Kidlio app, and Meryem Bilginer, a sole proprietor trading as Brainytech (Selimpaşa Mah. 1010. Sk. No: 10/1 İç Kapı No: 79, Silivri/İstanbul), who develops and operates the app. Kidlio is a mobile app that offers parents screen-free, age-appropriate activities for their children. Our Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is processed.
2. Membership Requirements
To use Kidlio, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a valid email address
- Accept these Terms of Use
The information you provide when signing up must be accurate and up to date. You are responsible for keeping your account and password secure. Members who join a family at the invitation of the family owner or an admin also accept these terms when they create their account.
3. Free Trial and Free Plan
New accounts start with a 7-day free trial. No payment information is required for this trial; when it ends, your account does not automatically switch to a paid subscription. Instead, it moves to the free plan, which offers limited content.
If you start a subscription with a free trial or introductory price through the App Store or Google Play, the subscription automatically renews at the regular price of your chosen plan, as shown on the purchase screen, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or introductory period ends.
4. Subscriptions, Payment, and Cancellation
Paid plans (Individual and Family) are billed monthly or yearly. The price, billing period, and any discount are shown on screen before you purchase.
- For purchases through an app store, payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription automatically renews for the same period and price unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage and cancel a store subscription in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; the Subscription screen in the app takes you there.
- For card purchases, you can cancel your subscription from the Subscription screen in the app.
- When you cancel, your subscription does not renew; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- The Family plan also gives access to members who join the family under the family owner's subscription; members do not pay separately for this access. A person can own only one family at a time; they can join other families as a member or admin. Family access always depends on the family owner's plan.
- When family ownership passes to someone else (a transfer, the owner leaving, account deletion, or a takeover), the previous owner's Family plan covers the family only until the end of the billing period in progress at that time; after that it no longer covers the family even if it renews, and family access depends on the new owner's plan. The previous owner's store subscription stays with them and is not canceled automatically; if they don't want it, they need to cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
- If the family owner cancels the Family plan or switches to a plan other than the Family plan, members' access through that plan ends at the end of the paid period. Family memberships and shared information are not deleted. The end date is shown in the app to the family owner and members in advance; if the Family plan is restarted, members' access comes back.
- Price changes are announced in advance in line with the relevant store's rules; if you do not accept the new price, you can cancel your subscription.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription started through an app store.
5. Right of Withdrawal and Refunds
For purchases made through an app store, refund requests are handled by that store (Apple App Store or Google Play) under its refund policy. For card purchases, you can email refund requests to contact@brainytech.net.
Any rights of withdrawal and refund that you have under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, the Turkish Distance Contracts Regulation, and the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country remain unaffected.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- Misuse the service or overload it
- Access other people's accounts without authorization
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute the app's content without permission
- Attempt to access the app's source code (reverse engineering) or bypass its security measures
- Enter misleading or false information
If you violate these rules, we may suspend or close your account after notifying you; we may act without prior notice in cases of serious or repeated violations, or when the security of the service requires it.
7. Intellectual Property
All content in the Kidlio app (activities, images, text, the mascot character, and designs) belongs to Brainytech. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. Any other use is prohibited. Content you enter in the app, such as memory notes, belongs to you; you give us the permission needed to store and display it solely to provide the service to you and your family.
8. Doing Activities Safely
Activities are designed to be done together with your child, under adult supervision. Before starting an activity, check that the materials and setting are suitable for your child's age and development; take particular care with activities that involve small parts, scissors, water, or heat. Kidlio's activities are prepared with input from experts; however, they are not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice and do not replace an assessment by a professional.
9. Liability
The parent is responsible for supervising the child while doing the activities. Brainytech strives to provide the service with care; however, technical failures or temporary service interruptions may occur, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, Brainytech is not liable for damages resulting from them.
This limitation does not apply to liability arising from intent or gross negligence (Turkish Code of Obligations Art. 115), or from death or bodily injury, and does not affect any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
10. Ending Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from the profile information screen in the app; our Privacy Policy explains what happens when you do. Remember to cancel any subscription started through an app store in your store settings before deleting your account.
If we close your account without any breach of these terms on your part, we will refund the fee for the period you paid for but could not use; for payments made through an app store, refunds can only be issued by that store, so we will help you request a refund from it.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms because of changes to the service or to the law. We announce significant changes in the app or by email a reasonable time before they take effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before they take effect. For significant changes that are to your disadvantage, we will ask for your consent separately; for other changes, if you continue to use the app after they take effect, you accept the new terms.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Consumers in Türkiye may apply to Consumer Arbitration Committees or Consumer Courts within the monetary limits announced each year. This choice of law does not deprive you of the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country or of your right to bring a claim before the courts of your country.
13. Apps Downloaded From the App Store
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and Brainytech only, not Apple; you may use the app only on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules; Brainytech, not Apple, is responsible for the app's content, maintenance, and support. Any product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property infringement claims relating to the app are to be directed to Brainytech, not Apple. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. When using the app, you must also comply with the terms of the relevant third-party services (e.g., app store and payment services). You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and have the right to enforce them against you.
